THR Uganda’s Information, Communication, and Education (ICE) initiatives are central to our mission of reducing tobacco-related harm in Uganda. Through these initiatives, we aim to empower the public, healthcare professionals, and policymakers with accurate, evidence-based information on safer nicotine alternatives, fostering a well-informed society capable of making healthier choices.
Comprehensive Educational Resources:
We develop and distribute a wide range of educational materials, including brochures, fact sheets, videos, and infographics, designed to explain the benefits and risks of various nicotine alternatives. These resources are tailored to different audiences, ensuring that both the general public and professionals can access information that is relevant and easy to understand.
Public Awareness Campaigns:
Our public awareness campaigns utilize various media platforms, including social media, radio, and television, to reach a broad audience across Uganda. These campaigns are designed to dispel myths, highlight the dangers of smoking, and promote the use of safer nicotine products as a viable alternative to traditional cigarettes.
Workshops and Seminars:
We organize workshops and seminars targeting specific groups, such as healthcare providers, community leaders, and educators. These events provide in-depth training on tobacco harm reduction, equipping participants with the knowledge and tools to advocate for and support the transition to safer nicotine alternatives within their communities.
Community Outreach Programs:
Recognizing the importance of grassroots engagement, we conduct community outreach programs that bring information directly to those who need it most. These programs include informational sessions in schools, workplaces, and local communities, where we engage directly with individuals to educate them on the benefits of switching to less harmful nicotine alternatives.
